My geck isn't working HELP Fallout New Vegas?

I know how to use it, but after I'm done, I save and go to play, and when i went to go get my custom weapons, they weren't there. I made sure about the data, that it was check when i made the mod, i actually dragged the weapon to the place, and it still wasnt there i've been waiting long enough to get my weapons, what do i do, complete a certain quest? Put the mod somewhere? I put it in where it usually saves, so where am i supposed to save the mod? I just want my custom weapons...
