Your feelings are natural. You just to keep the 'us' vacations a bit shorter and then come home and take the kids somewhere! It is easy for kids to not understand why Mom and Dad want to be alone, they think the universe is all about them :o) So until they are a lot older, just split the vacations. Good Luck!
