Why does my fallout new vegas keep crashing?

I recently bought fallout new vegas for my pc thinking it would be great. Little did i know that after completing the tutorial and trying to leaving doc michels house the game completely crashes and shows an error report on a blue screen! Can someone help coz its a really good game and it cost alot of money. Oh and it cant be anything to do with my computer because i tried it on two different ones!!!
