Do you think it's worth canceling a trip over an interview?

I had purchased tickets to go to Vegas until Tuesday, but got a call from a company I had interviewed with for a 2nd interview Monday. The prices have gone up on flights so much for that time period that exchanging dates is not a possibility, I gave in and accepted the Monday interview and now stuck without the trip this weekend. Did I do the right thing by not requesting a different day for the interview? Or consider how hard it is to find a job I did the right thing and took what was offered?
