Insuring my car, with a title?

My parents recently filed for Bankruptcy, fortunately the car they financed (which i co-own) was spared... recently i received a title for the car Does that mean its ours now? ... does that mean that i can now go ahead and only insure my liabilities and not my car itself and save quite a bit on my insurance?
